Vinted item not selling? When to drop the price and when to relist
Published 1 October 2026 · 5 min read
Every reseller has a rail of things that won't shift. The fix depends on why, and your listing already holds the clues: how long it's been up, how many people looked, and how many saved it.
Read the signals
- Plenty of views and favourites, no sale: people want it but not at this price. That's a price problem.
- Few views at all: people aren't finding it. That's a visibility problem, and a lower price won't help much if nobody sees it.
- Views but no favourites: people find it and pass. Look at the photos, title and condition notes before touching the price.
When to drop the price
If an item has been saved by several people, a price drop is the natural move. Pick a rule and stick to it, for example: after 14 days without a sale, drop by 10%. Rules stop you either panicking on day three or letting stock sit for months.
Before you drop, know your floor. Your break-even price is what the item cost you in total. The profit calculator shows it, plus the price that keeps your target margin, so a drop never quietly turns into a loss.
When to relist
If an item has had little attention for weeks, a fresh listing usually does more than a cut. Take a new main photo rather than re-uploading the old one: some sellers report that re-posting identical photos doesn't get the same reach, and a new angle or better light gives buyers a reason to look again either way. Rewrite the title with the words buyers actually search, such as brand, item type, size and colour.
Do it by hand
Tools exist that relist or reprice automatically on a timer. Vinted's terms don't clearly allow automated actions on your account, and sellers have reported restrictions after bulk auto-reposting. Making the change yourself, a few items at a time, is the safe route.
Let the rules do the remembering
The hard part isn't knowing the rules, it's checking every listing against them. Vintally's Suggestions page does that from your synced listings: it flags items due a price drop (never below your minimum margin) or a relist, with the reason, and opens the item on Vinted so you make the change yourself. Nothing is changed automatically.
