Vinted fees in the UK: what sellers and buyers actually pay
Published 1 October 2026 · 4 min read
Short answer: as a private seller in the UK, you don't pay a fee to sell on Vinted. The price you set is what you receive. The buyer pays Vinted's Buyer Protection fee on top, plus postage. The only costs on your side are extras you choose to buy.
The Buyer Protection fee (paid by the buyer)
Every purchase carries a Buyer Protection fee, added at checkout. Vinted's price list describes it as typically "a percentage of the item's or bundle's price, as well as a fixed fee — usually 3% to 8% + £0.3 to £0.8". It varies, so on a £20 item the buyer pays roughly £20.90 to £22.40 before postage.
It doesn't come out of your money, but it does affect you: buyers see the total, so a £20 item can look like £22 to them. Keep that in mind when you price close to a round number or compare with other sites.
Postage
On Vinted the buyer normally pays postage, choosing from the options at checkout. You only pay it if you agree to cover it, so leave it out of your costs unless you did.
Optional extras (paid by you)
- Bumps push a listing up in search for a while. Vinted's price list says the fee "will vary depending on the chosen duration and item price".
- Showcase promotes your listings; the price list says the fee and duration "will be shown to you at checkout".
- Item verification, where offered, is listed as a flat service fee per item.
These are real costs and belong in your profit sums. If a Bump costs £1.50 on a £6 item, that's a quarter of the price gone.
Pro sellers
Business accounts (Vinted Pro) have their own terms and fee arrangements. This article covers private sellers; if you sell through Pro, check your agreement with Vinted.
What it means for your pricing
